Ecstatic Dance Culture

Sober, joyful dance parties in London

About Ecstatic Dance Culture

Ecstatic Dance Culture was founded by Kata Armitage (Dj Kata) and Rose Robinson aka Tigerbalm in the pandemic and has grown into a movement that creates a joyful, sober and safe environment where women can dance and express themselves completely freely.

Kata creates an immersive 90-minute journey where the dance floor becomes a playground of expression, freedom, and pure joy.

Led by a fierce female DJ (because of course), this experience invites your hen party to drop into their bodies and move through a curated soundscape of rhythms, beats, and genres designed to awaken, uplift, and unite.

No choreography. No judgment. No experience needed. Just bring a sense of curiosity, your full self, and maybe your sparkliest outfit.

Together, you’ll laugh, sweat, connect, and release—all through the power of dance.

What is Ecstatic Dance?

Ecstatic Dance is less about “how” and more about “what if?”

What if you let go of what you look like? What if you let your body lead?

This is conscious dance in its most liberating form. A freeform, barefoot, non-verbal journey that invites everyone—regardless of ability, shape, or background—to explore movement as medicine.

A live DJ will take you on a high-energy, multi-genre musical arc that builds to a euphoric peak, then eases into grounded stillness. All you have to do is trust your body and follow the rhythm.

Expect big releases, wild grins, and maybe a few happy tears. Dancing like this opens us up. It deepens our connection to ourselves and to each other. It reminds us how good it feels to simply be in our bodies.

This is a truly magical way for everyone on your to connect deeply together and with themselves. You’ll create a space for everyone to experience a deep sense of well-being and total joy.
