Farm Girls Volunteer Hen Party

If your bride loves animals and spending time outdoors, this is a wonderful alternative activity to do together at the hen party. Get outside to connect with nature, and each other while supporting a local charity and the community in Newcastle.
You’ll be welcomed with refreshments and pastries and then get into your volunteering around the farm, as well as helping with the animals - doing things like rabbit and guinea pig grooming, reptile handling and the opportunity to take the goats for a walk!
As well as being really unique, this is an activity that creates all-round wellbeing for everyone. Being around animals and close to nature brings a sense of calm, and volunteering is also proven to increase mental health and your connection to others.
Hen parties are all about reinforcing and celebrating the bond you have with your friends, so activities that support that make so much sense. Plus, you can bring that love that overflows on hen parties and share it with the community where you’ve come together to celebrate.
You’ll enjoy some refreshments and pastries when you arrive, followed by some of the volunteering tasks listed below, as well as rabbit and guinea pig grooming, reptile handling and the opportunity to take their goats for a walk!
Tasks vary according to seasons and what is a priority at any one time, and can include:
Tree planting in the orchard
Barn and/or fence painting
Harvesting fruit
Pruning and/or mulching fruit trees
Sowing seeds and bulb planting
General repairs and DIY, for example fixing up our chicken run
Animal enrichment toy making
Bee hive maintenance
Afterwards you can add on tea & cake or lunch at Cafe Beam at the farm, or we can make a reservation for you at a nearby restaurant.
Duration: 4 hours
The cost for volunteering covers all staff time, materials, the use of gloves, boots and any other protective clothing needed for particular tasks and all health and safety requirements.
