Make Cards for Sick Kids
If your hen party are a particularly crafty lot you could spend an afternoon making cards to post to seriously ill children and their families. This simple activity will give your hens the opportunity to get creative and do something that will put a huge smile on the face of a poorly child or their sibling.
The beautiful thing about this hen party activity is that it’s completely free, apart from any craft materials you need to buy, but it gives so much in return! Not only will you fill the lives of sick children with love and joy, but we guarantee your hens will feel a special warmth and connection together during this activity, too!
How to run your Post Pals hen party activity
Decide on what kinds of cards you want to make, and source the necessary items - you could buy them, borrow from friends, or ask the hens to bring along what they have already.
For basic card making we recommend: felt tips and/or crayons, some fun stickers, glitter glue, an alphabet stencil or letraset, white or coloured card, envelopes, and of course stamps!
Suggest that each hen logs onto Post Pals in advance to find their pal that they’ll send a card to. Or, you could hand out choices at random on the day.
Make sure you set aside 2 or 3 hours for card making during the hen weekend, and check your hen party house or location has a nice space for you to do it in.
Provide some treats, snacks and cocktails for your hens.
Choose a fun playlist to set the mood while you’re making your cards.
When all the cards are finished and sealed with addresses and stamps, nominate one person to post them all.
Consider what to do with the leftover craft materials - if someone will use them they can take them home. If not, you could donate them to a local school, playgroup, or Girl Guides group. Always call ahead before donating to make sure they can accept what you can offer.
